The LED light strip market is mixed, and the prices of products from regular manufacturers and counterfeit manufacturers vary greatly. If we identify the quality of LED light strips from a professional technical point of view, I am afraid that many customers do not have this ability. However, we can make a preliminary identification based on the simple appearance, and basically distinguish the quality.
It can be identified mainly from the following aspects:
1. Look at the solder joints. The LED light strips produced by regular LED light strip manufacturers are produced using SMT patch technology, solder paste and reflow soldering. Therefore, the solder joints on the LED light strips are relatively smooth and the amount of solder is not much. The solder joints extend from the FPC pad to the LED electrode in an arc shape.
2. Look at the quality of FPC. FPC is divided into copper-clad and rolled copper. The copper foil of the copper-clad board is convex, and if you look closely, you can see it from the connection between the pad and the FPC. The rolled copper is closely connected to the FPC and can be bent arbitrarily without the pad falling off. If the copper-clad board is bent too much, the pad will fall off, and excessive temperature during maintenance will also cause the pad to fall off.
3. Check the cleanliness of the surface of the LED light strip. The LED light strip produced by SMT technology has very good surface cleanliness, and no impurities and stains can be seen. The knockoff LED light strip produced by hand welding technology will have stains and cleaning marks on its surface no matter how it is cleaned.
4. Check the packaging. Regular LED light strips will be packaged in anti-static reels, 5 meters per roll or 10 meters per roll, and the outside of the package will be sealed with anti-static moisture-proof packaging bags. The knockoff LED light strip uses recycled reels and no anti-static moisture-proof packaging bags. A careful look at the reels can show that there are traces and scratches left on the surface when the label is removed.
5. Check the label. Regular LED light strip packaging bags and reels will have printed labels, not printed labels.
6. Check the accessories. Regular LED light strips will have instructions for use and light strip specifications in the packaging box, and will also be equipped with LED light strip connectors or card holders; while the knockoff LED light strip packaging box does not have these accessories, because some manufacturers still save money after all.
